Sit Investment Associates is committed to cultivating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Our DEI priorities focus on employee engagement and education, as well as client and community engagement. We believe that incorporating diverse perspectives and encouraging open discussion and debate results in better synergy within in the firm and more informed decisions for our clients.
Sit Investment Associates integrates our DEI work with community-minded charitable giving and volunteer initiatives. The Sit Investment Associates Foundation was organized in 1981 to aid charitable and educational organizations at the community level. The foundation also supports the charitable activities of firm employees with financial grants. Employees submit donation requests for consideration to the Foundation for specific charitable organizations. Since its inception, the Foundation has contributed over $27 million to various philanthropic and community organizations.
Sit Investment Associates is also the lead sponsor of the Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund (MMAF), a charity co-founded by Sit Investment Associates founder, Gene Sit, and currently chaired by Sit Investment Associates’ CEO, Roger Sit. Launched in 2005, Gene Sit not only organized the effort but personally contributed the first one million dollars. MMAF is a non-partisan, non-political, 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation that provides cash grants to service members deployed in combat zones, and to the families of service members killed in combat. The mission of MMAF is to say “thanks” to Minnesota service members and their families who make sacrifices in the defense of our freedoms in combat zones around the world. MMAF has provided over $12.2 million in grants to more than 18,000 recipients, making it the nation’s largest-ever statewide fundraiser of its kind. MMAF is not affiliated with Sit Investment Associates, Inc.
Sit Investment Associates is also a long-term supporter of the Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM), a national non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in the field of investment management. Roger Sit, the firm’s CEO & Chief Investment Officer, has served as a long-term board member of AAAIM and currently serves as an AAAIM Honorary Board Member.
